Guy Keeps Harassing Me...what Should I Do??(Not About Cake)

Ok, long story short... I was going to order a banner from this sign making business, I called and said what I wanted, size, color & design, and he quoted me a price of 50$. So leaving out a lot of going back and forth between us, today he emails me saying it would be 10$ extra for the color I want. Well I told him what color I wanted the very first time I talked to him and he told me it was 50$. Well since I am running out of time to order it I was still going to order it, so I wrote back and said the design looked good, and clarified that the price would now be 60$. Well he writes back and says blah blah blah, it's actually going to cost almost 100$. I was so ticked 'cause he totally misled me and now it's the last minute and I'm too late to order from anywhere else. Anyways I wrote back and said as nicely as possible that we could not afford that much and I was going to make it myself.
WELL he wrote back a nasty email saying I better order something from him after all the hours he spent working on my design, and if I didn't order anything he was going to charge me 35$ for artistic time, or something to that effect.
I wrote back, still as nicely as possible, and said that he misled me, if I had known he was going to jack up the price I never would have wasted his time in the first place, but I am not at fault here.
I didn't sign anything or pay any deposit so legally I know he can't touch me, but the harassing emails are getting unnerving. I can't remember if I left my phone # with him or not, so far he hasn't tried to call. I don't know if I should just ignore him and hope he goes away or keep trying to argue back and forth with him about why I am not going to pay him anything!!! ![]()
I know he can't make me pay legally so hopefully the situation will just go away but I just needed to vent! Thanks for reading.
Absolutely save his emails and any messages if he calls you, otherwise ignore him. If he starts making you very uncomfortable or scared, don't hesitate to contact the authorities.
Sounds like this guy's just trying to get something for nothing, but you never know. There's lots of crazies out there.
Is this His business or a business he works for? If he isn't the owner/manager I would go directly to them and tell them that you do not appreciate threatening emails. This guy may be working off commision and the owners don't know what he is doing.
If he is the owner. I would ignore him, if for any reason he calls tell him "i'm sorry you have the wrong number" (by the way this works great for sales calles-it has stopped quite a few for me) I don't know if the authorities can do anything about a situation like this, but if it continues to get worse seek advice from them.
But either way save any correspondence you have with him. Through email and if you talk to him write it down in a memo with date and time.
I hope this goes well for you.
You can always put a block on emails.Idid on my x sil now she can't send dumb stuff to me anymore. click on settings,go to email features, click on block list and just do what it tell you to do.Bingo no more emails from this guy. ![]()
Definately save all of the emails. This is harrassment. All you did was ask for a quote. If he continues to harrass you bring charges up on him. I also agree with the previous post about going over his head and contacting his boss. Unless he doesn't have a boss. I would also complain to the better business bureau. That way maybe this won't happen to another person in the future. Good luck.
i'd just block it and forget it.
lifes too short to deal with crazy people....
