we have a friend of the family that wants me to make his daughter a sponge bob birthday cake. i told him $20 and he didn't give me any specifics on it... he said whatever you want... so i was thinking of doing a 10" fbct but i kinda wanted it to be square so maybe just doing sponge bob's face on a 10" square cake? i just don't want to have to draw it out or try to smooth icing over it... that's why i liked the fbct idea better... any help on how i should do this?

there is a lot of great spongebob cakes in the gallery. Maybe that would help if you browsed around for some ideas. I dont think smoothing the cake would be all that difficult if you wanted to do the square cake and used a crusting buttercream. Just smooth over with a viva or do the melvira method, it would turn out great! Mabye you could do some fondant cut outs on top for the circles and face?

a spongebob edible image will run you around 6-7 bucks I think.
