What kind of icing is the best to use during the summer months? I mainly use buttercream, but this will be my first cake to travel 150 miles with in the middle of summer. It also doesn't help I live in Texas, so it usually gets around 100 degrees outside during June. Any suggestions?

You may not like the taste as much but all Crisco/shortening BC holds up better than icing that has butter in it. Crisco has a higher melting temperature but in 100 degree heat, I'm not sure that anything is foolproof. I would make sure you have the A/C on full blast in the car!

I also know that IMBC holds up well.
