The party will be a celebrity look alike party. She is really into fashion. Very pretty girl. I would like to do something maybe like a purse, shoe but have no clue where to begin. The only thing I am certain of is that I would like to use gold pearl dragees because I think that they are so pretty. Other than that I am at a loss.

How about blue stacked rounds with dragees floating down the sides with yellow/gold stars shooting out the top (on wires/spaghetti/whatever) with a purse or shoe/fashion pieces on top?

Wow Cande, I could picture this cake as I was reading your reply. Thank you to all of you for your ideas. I was thinking that of blue rounds with gold stars (Doug's idea) of different sizes. I just ordered the sugarveil icing machine so I could have the stars kind of going from the size of the tiers to the top of the same tier if that makes any sense. I don't know, I am kind of processing everything and will eventually come up with a drawing. I may try and do a gold designer mini-purse as the topper with a gold crystal handle.

Sounds like a really neat cake. I did a 3 tiered cake for my daughter's b-day. I used a 12 and 9 inch stacked rounds. I then used a 6 inch round cut in half to make the purse on top. It is the glamour girl cake in my photos. I also used gumpaste stars. You could change up the colors and do something similar. This might give you some ideas though. Good luck and post a picture! icon_smile.gif

How about a blue jewelry box with a gold ring inside?? Not sure how to do it, just brainstorming.

Hope it helps! icon_wink.gif

Thanks again, Traci I saw your cake and it is so cute. My daughter would love it. i think I might try and make one as topper with gold handle. Since she is 16 I think she likes "bling"!!! I also like the idea of the box with the gold ring. God I guess I just better start sketching and see what looks best.
