This is the first rose I've done following Kerry Vincent's instructions. In fact, it's the first cakey thing I've done in 2 months. No kitchen yet but it's coming along! Anyway, I found the instructions in this months issue of ACD. It's a little lopsided but not too bad for a first try. Any suggestions are welcome!

Wow is right! Did you stencil the fondant with petal or luster dust first? That is one impessive rose! Please share the instructions with us- I don't get ACD mag!

Thanks sooooo much! It's from the cake on the cover, yes. I did stencil it with luster dust before forming them with the spoon. Makes it really easy. I'll be doing another one in the next day or so and I'll take some snaps of the process. Still working on the kitchen so I'm fitting practicing in as I can! Thanks again, your comments are really appreciated!

So, how long before the whole cake is finished? Can't wait to see it!

LOL! I don't even have a kitchen! We are remodeling it as I speak. Haven't baked since January 1! Talk about withdrawls. I figured I start on these roses so that when that time comes and I can bake, I'll have them ready.

I started another one this morning and took pictures as I went along. Putting it into a pdf. file so as soon as I'm finished with it, I'll post it. Sorry for the delay...squeezing it in between going to work and working on the kitchen. My DH and I are doing the work ourselves (he's a craftsman par excellence). It's really going to be very nice. Done in the Arts & Crafts style.
