I have some of this filling in a tube. It is unrefrigerated. Once I put it in a cake, does the cake then need to be refrigerated? Thanks in advance.

I bought some of this at a cake supply store and still have not used it. I think however, that since it is pretty thin that I would refrigerate before putting on cake and then keep cake cold. I would use a heavy dam for this too. Let me know how it tastes. Nope, never tasted it either, bought it just to buy it I guess.

I wouldn't think so. I know Bavarian cream is a very common wedding cake filling here and it's always out for hours and hours so I wouldn't see how it'd be perishable- at least for that long of a time period.

You have the tube, right?

It will say on the label.

Yes, Maisie is right. Check the label. The ingredients should be listed there. If you see no dairy or egg, then it should be alright. From personal knowledge, that bavarian cream has been sitting in a box, in the store or warehouse, and possibly on your shelf, for at least a month. I would think that, after all this time, if it were subject to spoilage, the bag would have exploded by now.

I like their French Bavarian Cream better than the regular. To me, the regular is more like pastry cream. The FBC is more like a scratch Bavarian Cream to me.

Well, I told my daughter to refrigerate it if they didn't eat it all (she teaches 5th grade and it was for her class). Am waiting for her report on how the kids liked it. I tasted it (it was Fr Bav Cream) and wasn't crazy about it. The tube is gone now but I don't remember it saying much of anything on it. Thanks, all.
