Hi guys
I have been asked by a friend to make her daughters 21st Birthday cake. It is going to be a mexican theme, with the colours red/green/gold, and she wants an elegant cake (probably 2 tiers) it needs to feed approx 60-70people.... don't really know where to start with this one, as she definitely doesn't want chinzy or cliche mexican type stuff, if you know what i mean.

thanks for any help

Do you work with fondant or gumpaste? How about the Mexican flag done in fondant and draped over the center and one side of the cake, with maybe a purchased Mexican fan or minature Mantilla and her birthday greeting?

I would use Mexican art for inspiration.

thanks for the ideas guys! I did a sketch of a cake and emailed it to the lady last night... if nothing else it's a starting point!

thanks again, appreciate the help... would never have thought of looking at art! haha... guess the most obvious thing to do is what I do last.
