I most often use just buttercream to fill my cakes with, but now I need to order some filling for an upcoming wedding cake. How much filling should I order to fill a 6,8,10,12 round (one layer of filling). I can't find anywhere that tells me about how many cups (or fractions of a cup) that are typically used for specific layer sizes. Thanks for any help you can offer me!

I find that I don't actually measure out how much filling to add but rather just start piling it on the layer until it looks right and doesn't overflow.

I did find a useful chart at Ladycakes.com though.

Hope that helps!
