How do I make fondant cutouts stick to fondant? I have used watered down fondant, but is there something better, perhaps already made. Glue for cakes?
Thank you,
lc
I use a very thick solution of powder sugar and water..just enough to spread w/ a small paint brush. ![]()
Can you use piping gel to make fondant roses appear shiny.
When you mentioned the gel dripping down the fondant will make it appear shiny I was wondering.
My chocolate fondant roses are very dull looking no satiny finish or sheen. Would that help?

I use a little egg white if the fondant is pliable and a little royal if the fondant has begun to set.
Gee, I just use water! I guess we all have different methods!
I'm with you beachcakes! Good old water works for me.
I use Piping Gel for my butterflies and let me tell you piping gel will glue anything to everything especially the lid that goes on the top of the container of piping gel!!!
I have found if you let hot water run over the edge it will FINALLY be able to open.
I, too, just use water.
I lightly brush the water on the back of the piece that's going onto the cake. That way there's never any shiny spots showing or "runs".
You can use luster dusts to give fondant flowers sheen and sparkle.
Greatest thing I have used that is closest to glue is light Kayro syrup. Very, very sticky, dries fast and is wonderfully sweet.
