Hi guys...I buy and sell on Ebay and I came across this situation...
I sold something and then the buyer never contacted me. A month and a half passed and I sent I think 3 or 4 emails but no response, no payment, nothing.
The time limit had JUST expired to report as a non-payer (45 days...and I think it was 47 when I tried to do it), so I gave them one more try and when I got no response, again, I left negative feedback. I have never left neg. feedback before, in 7 years.
A week later, and lo and behold, I get an email from her apologizing to no end and can I please resend the invoice, blah blah blah. I feel badly no that I left the feedback....
Should I tell her it's too late.....
Should I try to retract the neg. feedback?
What would you do?
Oh yeah...I'm concerned that she might turn around and leave ME neg. feedback....
You aren't wrong adven68. You were more than patient. I'm a buyer on ebay (I've yet to start selling) and I get my pymts out asap. Most sellers have a statement on their pages that state pymt must be made within so many days (usually 7 to 10) or neg. feedback and a non-paying report will be left. She deserved that neg feedback and more. Don't worry about her leaving you a neg. feedback. Your overall rating will speak for itself. Did you check out her feedback? Does she have a history of doing this?
You did the right thing adven68....you gave her more than enough time. It is very hard to get ebay to let you retract your feedback...and she really did desevre the negative feedback. I wouldn't worry about her leaving you negative feedback because most ebayers can tell when someone leaves you a negative for revenge.
Have you got your snow shoes out...heehee It's sure been rough on you guys!! I saw on the Today show this a.m. that you got 16 inches!!
YIKES!!!!
Hugs, ~Denise
adven68, It isn't like you didn't try to contact her. What was her record like on ebay prior to your experience? I mean that's a long time to forget about a bid. Things happen, if she had a misfortune I could see trying to reverse the feedback, IF SHE FOLLOWS THROUGH. Otherwise, she could just keep doing to others.
Cashflow problems happen, but she never responded to your emails for a month and a half. That's not accidental.
Don't try to withdraw the feedback and if you want to complete the sale, wait for the payment to clear and send with proof of delivery.
Thanks for the great advice, everyone....her reason (excuse) was that she was getting a lot of spam from the ebay account....
well, then, why bid on something, right?
I'd hate to get a "revenge" negative feedback but I think I'll chance it. People should know that she's trouble...and she did have some past problems, too....
Thanks again!
Ok...so I replied to her e-mail...just so she has no ammo against me...she already mentioned that there was no specific email address for Paypal in my listing.....that's full of bull...
I thanked her for her email but asked her to consider the transaction void. I also told her I would contact Ebay about changing the feedback to a "neutral". Let's see.....it took her about 2 months to contact me.....yeah...I'll email Ebay in May.........if I remember....
hey adven68,
what kind of stuff are you selling on ebay? i would love to see what you have. and i have 100% positive feedback on ebay. can you send me a link to something you have?
My weakness is clothes... But not for myself....for my 3 yr. old daughter!!! Go figure...I spend more on her than myself. I'm not into the frou-frou look....more like a very simple but chic style....
I shop at Century 21 here near my house and they have the most amazing European designers at a fraction of the regular prices, so when she outgrows her clothes and shoes, I sell them on Ebay. They always sell.
