My husband and I are building a house soon, and I'm going to have room for a 48" professional gas range, with the 1 larger oven, 1 small. My builder thinks Wolf is the way to go (I have heard the saying, "Viking for looks, Wolf for cooks....", and I have heard quite a few people say their Viking has been unreliable but others think it is the best.... I also wonder about GE Monogram and Thermador. Do any of you out there own one of these and have any thoughts on the subject? I have a subscription to consumer reports on-line, but they don't seem to have much for reviews on the higher-end stuff....Just thought I'd pick some of your brains on this one, anything you may love or hate or have a family member who raves or complains about theirs.....They cost a lot, and I hate the idea of having something that looks good but doesn't perform.....kind of like a Mercedes (always in the shop and expensive to fix!) I need form and function.....Thanks in advance for any advice!

My sister is a professional chef and swears by her gorgeous new Wolf stove. It has two ovens, convection capability and she chose the double burner/central grill/simmering plate combination.

What a beauty! What a price too. icon_eek.gif Into the 5 digits.

It bakes hot, but you just adjust your temps and it's a dream.

I find this to be a wonderful place to research appliances. From what I have found out, don't get Viking. Terrible customer service. I currently have a house being built and the builder gave us a deal on a Jenn Air 48" oven which is made by DCS. We were also looking at GE because we get a discount at work and it is also made by DCS. We really like the look and feel of the DCS. Here is there website http://www.dcsappliances.com/indoor/detail.php?id=4 . I have heard good things about Thermador and Wolf but they were out of my price range. If I had all the money in the world, I would get the 60" Duel Fuel Wolf range. That thing is sweet.

I can't wait to try out my new oven. I have an old single oven right now and it doesn't keep a constant temperature
