Well my son was all set for his Secret Agent bday party when his dad brought home Peter Pan. As soon as the movie was over he looked at me with sparkly eyes and said "Mom, I changed my mind. I want a Peter Pan cake." So, what in the world can I do? Short of maybe finding a Transfer of peter, I'm not sure where to take this. I did a search and did find a couple of cute ones, but it really seems like there is little in the way of Peter Pan or Neverland themed cakes out there.
I was considering maybe doing an old looking map of Neverland with Tink's foot prints and Pixie dust scattered throughout, but I'd love some other ideas. By the way, I have 9 days to figure this out!
Thanks!
What about a boat scene with Capt Hook? Treehouse, Pirates Chest maybe.
I immediately thought of Peter's signature hat. Any way to carve that out and add a fondant feather (or a real on for that matter).
I love Peter Pan...my poor two year old had to go as Peter this past Halloween 'cause I just HAD to make that cute little outfit.
Good luck with your cake and make sure you post pictures, with the re-release I am sure we will all be getting more requests for that one!

These are wonderful ideas! Thanks so much and keep em coming!
My current thought is an island shaped cake with a giant tree-the hideout- right in the middle...still tossing around ideas for the decorations. But, my idea has changed 5 times in the last hour, so I'm sure it'll change agian soon!
Here is the way my cake ended up. I'm pleased, overall, but it's not obvious that it's Neverland. I went to the disney store to get little Peter Pan figurines and of course they were sold out, so I improvised with my son's Playmobile pirates and just said that they were Capt'n Hook's men, and that Hook was chasing Peter Pan somewhere else. I'm pleased with Indian Point, and I think the treasure chest of rock candy jewels was a good touch.

I'm having a hard time getting it to post to the message, but I'll post it in my album. Thanks for taking a look!
Ok, I have the PERFECT cake for you! I did a Peter Pan cake a couple of years ago for my nephew and it was a HUGE hit! What I did is make a 3D map of Neverland (like an aerial view). I made a 1/2 sheet cake and use cup cakes to form the mountain. I molded all sorts of stuff from fondant - the pirate ship, the crocodile, the mermaids, Wendy's house, the Lost boy's tree, and Indian teepee and totem pole with a fire, and Skull rock. I used pictures from doing Google image searches to get a good map of Neverland to go by. The island was surrounded by water, with black icing "shadows" of Peter Pan, Wendy, and the 2 boys flying in from one corner. Around the sides of the cake I piped "Second star to the right, then straight on 'til morning". It was soooo cool. Sorry I can't post any pics, we didn't have a digital camera then and the 35mm photos all came out really blurry. Hopefully I described the concept in enough detail. ![]()
