How can this possibly feed 12 ppl that's what it says on the Wilton site, it says round cake 6" or smaller have to be cut in slices and not with a center in the middle I don't see how unless you cut the slices thinner than angel hair!

Well I can see where they are getting that from. If you think about it a 6" double layered cake thats alot of cake for one person. People are really not gonna want a 2-3 piece of cake! But this is my opinion.

I would think that a 6" would be enough.

I say that my 6" cake serves 8 to 12. It really depends on how the customer cuts it! So I think it will feed those 8 hungry mechanics just fine icon_smile.gif

Well thanks for your replies the manager at Firestone and I got to really know each other when I complained to his superior for keeping my car ALL DAY!! They dropped me off at home at 10 am said my car would be ready by 12:30 and I called about 1 and they said one of the guys was out for lunch and had to wait for him there is a number of people they have to keep in the shop, well I waited I walked into Firestone after the guy picked me up and I walked in wanting to pay my very expensive brakes and drums! and I told the manager I needed to speak to him because I wanted to know why I was getting picked up at 4:20 when I dropped off my car and I told him very clear " just because I am at home waiting for my car doesn't mean I don't need my car" his answer was that they got real busy and they have a business to run so I said to him " I am your business" I left of course and paid then called his boss and they guy begged me to just return his phone call and his boss then called me and said to please hear him out I did he apolized and let me know that in other words he got into a lot fo trouble gave me 4 free oil changes (my car's are $29) and moved on since everytime I walk in he totally takes care of me and I have asked him for donations for my daughter's school and never says no he gives me free oil changes so I decided to give them a free cake, so he knows I just don't go in there asking for things it's small but it's something they can in while they are working sorry I just had to share

As for the cake? Ya wouldn't slice it normally.....it (I assume) would be cut in a grid pattern.....with 3" pans and lots of frosting each layer could be looked at as a separate cake. Ok, maybe this is a stretch, but I don't know how else this could be done!
