Hi CC Gang!
I have a customer who has requested (on short notice) a three-tiered cake for her daughter's 30th birthday party. She wants one tier to represent the daughter's childhood, one to represent her teen/college years and the bottom to represent her mother/wife years.

I can do something "girly" for the top tier. Any ideas for the teen and mom tiers???? And I can't get too fancy because her budget is $125 max. Thanks for your help!!

If you're comfortalbe with writing, maybe just write some sayings from the time period, along with some hearts, musical notes, etc.
For my daughter's 21st b-day, I wrote: "21......and still all that!"
For the married/mother years, maybe: laundry, no sleep, what happened??? I'm tired, true love, romance, Help!
The craft store sells minature pacificers, baby bottles, etc. that you can put on the cake if you don't want to make them.

In addition to the great ideas already listed...

on the adult/wife/mother tier: stilletto heels, martini glasses, a house,

teen tier: car and car keys,

baby/child tier: baby booties, baby blocks, hopscotch, jump ropes,

Also, maybe things specific to those time frames--do an internet search for.....say....1977, 1992, and 2007, pick a few things indicative of those years.

I like the above ideas, and along those lines, do the "images" (like engagement ring, lipstick and nail polish, etc.) out of molded chocolates and adhere them to the side of the cake for effect.

What great ideas! I can't wait to see the finished product!!

Another idea for the adult/mother years: wedding cake. Maybe fondant accents of the various items mentioned.

Also, how about using those separators from Wilton (Tailored Tiers) where you could use photos from each of those sets of years on each...
