Hi! I'm sorry if this question has been asked, but I couldn't find it anywhere. When making a cupcake cake....do you only ice the top? Is there anything on the sides where the cupcakes in their liners are showing or do you just leave that? icon_smile.gif

I just made one last week and all I iced was the top. When your all finished you don't even see the bottoms

Yes, you just ice the tops. I have found that if you use crusting buttercream; it is better to put sort of a crumb coat on them, let it dry and then ice. This helps the icing to not sink as bad. You can look in my photos I have several cupcake cakes there.
