My thoughts exactly on the bride just decided what cake or who she would like to do her cake. My wedding is 3 months away but I've had my cake planned since Sept. LOL To each their own I suppose. Anyhow, Congrats on your order!!!!!!!!
Congrats! I'm excited for you too! I'm sure you will do a Superb Job, and many more orders will Follow! ![]()
Big CONGRATS!!!
My (unsolicited) advice...give yourself about twice as much time as you think it will take at every step of the process...
My first wedding cake felt so stressful that I messed up silly things (like baking the first ones with oil and no water...OOPS!) that I would have been much more relaxed if I didn't feel a time crunch!
Also give yourself extra time to set up--and make up an 'emergency'kit that includes extra icing, and some extra decorations (if you are using fondant, gumpaste, or royal icing) to quickly fix up anything that goes wrong during transport/set up.
HAVE FUN AND TAKE PICTURES!!!
Thanks for the comments! As for the "two week" notice. This is a spur of the moment wedding. Not because they have to get married but because of some family members don't want them to get married. Don't misunderstand...they are both great people. Just one set of parents are divorced and feel marriage may be a mistake. I on the other hand really think they are great for each other. They have taken pre-marriage counceling and are really ready to be married. It is a really small wedding so the cake won't be very big. But I want it to look great!
I can't wait to post the pictures....and thanks for all the advice!!! ![]()
