I need to serve 400 with a 4 tier round cake (serving the top). They wanted 3 tiers but I pushed for at least 4!! My largest pan is a 16" but I was thinking of getting a larger one. (I have big ovens) Does anyone have a list of servings for pans larger than 16"? What would you use? icon_confused.gif

I know the 18" is actually a half-round. Bake two and put them together. I'm not aware of anything bigger. Have you measured your oven to see what is the largest pan it will accomodate?

Why not make the three tier and then have a sheet cake in the back to serve from?

Thanks calvalrykari... that's exactly what I needed!

Unfortunately they don't want sheet cakes.

cakedeco.com has full rounds up to 24"! WOW
Yes, my oven will be fine. I have a 4 deck bagel oven that holds 3 full sheets per deck! icon_biggrin.gif

Jenn...now I'm jealous! Can someone covet someone else's oven?

Well...it's kind of a pain 'cause it bakes too hot in the back. I have to keep spinning things to make it bake evenly. The doors are really narrow and its hard to reach in. I can't tell you how many times I've burned my arms! But... I've got lots of room! I never need more than 2 decks at a time. We got a deal at an auction!

I can't imagine what difference that would make to them. If they order a 4 tier cake and they get a 4-tier cake, why would they care if there was an extra sheet cake in the back?

What about satellite cakes?

You know how it is "simple but elegant" isn't always simple! icon_rolleyes.gif
