I am going to be making a guitar cake for this Friday and am going to be doing a fender acoustic with dark sides and a light top. So, my question is, how do I get light chocolate frosting and dark chocolate frosting that taste the same? I have not made chocolate frosting except once before a long time ago. Dangit, and here I thought I was helping keep myself away from my weakness.

I really want this to be perfect of course, because it will set my standards at my office. You see, it's one of my bosses that ordered it for a surprise birthday party her daughter is throwing for a friend.

Plus, any tips on making a guitar cake???? I know of the spahgetti noodles painting in silver for the strings, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (Im so nervous icon_wink.gif)

I have never done it, but you could probably just tint one of the frostings with brown gel paste, so that it is a darker hue than the other one.

Wow, that was a lot easier than I was expecting, but it sure makes sense. Ever tried to think too hard and end up not thinking at all.....? icon_smile.gif

I had a Les Paul (Gibson) made for my husband as his groom's cake...she used royal icing for the strings...I'm sure yours will be awesome - good luck!!

I add some dark chocolate fudge canned frosting to my homemade frosting. Or you could add the Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa to the light brown frosting.
