Hello everyone! icon_lol.gif DH is starting a business selling hand tied fly fishing flys. He is looking into getting paypal to help with accepting payments. Does anyone here have paypal accounts and what have your experiences been?

Thanks for the info

I've had one for about 3 years now that I started so I could use it for eBay. It's been pretty simple and a great way for anyone to send you payment. I've been using it a lot more lately and love that I can print out shipping labels from the site. I also just got the debit card for the account.

Haven't had any problems to date *knock on wood* and would recommend it to anyone needing to provide a way for others to pay you.

I use paypal for my ebay buying/selling. never had a problem. son-in-law used it when he sold a high priced item and had paypal send him a check. worked great.

I accept PayPal as a method of payment for my cakes. If your husband decides to accept credit cards as a method of payment, PayPal will charge him a certain % fee from each payment that he receives. If he just accepts account-to-account transfers, there are no fees.

Click on this link to see more info about the fees: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside

Hope this helps! icon_smile.gif

You're welcome, good luck to your husband! They do charge fees for credit card transactions but I've found that most tend to pay with credit cards. At first, I didn't accept cards but that limited my buying audience.

And thank you, that is my new nephew, he's 2 weeks old.

I had identity theft occur with paypal and ebay. I was a victim because I had the same password for my ebay, paypal, and hotmail account. Have a different password for each account. I now make my passwords alpha numeric with upper and lowercase letters. Of course this means that I can't remember them by heart and I have to write them down, but it's worth it to keep my identity safe.

Thank you for the warning Mouse! I too am guilty of using the same password for everything.

If anyone ever figures it out they can get in my garage door, car, bank account...ok I am going to go change them now.

Remind me I did this later when I can't get into the car or the house OK... icon_lol.gif

Oh I hate the password issue!

"You must have a different password for each site you access. You must change the password every 3 months. You cannot use the same password within a 9 month period. YOu cannot make them sequencial (i.e. ABC1, then ABC2). BUT ....... !!!!! DON'T write them down for security's sake!"

I hate passwords and the IT guys who invented them! icon_mad.gif

LOL- I'm one of those people that has to support those IT guys that created those rules icon_wink.gif
And there is nothing more frustrating when you are trying to reset your password, you are following all the rules, and the system just doesn't like the combo of numbers and letters that you are using. And then you use the same password and just change one little number or letter and then it takes. Grrrr icon_mad.gif
