Do you hae a cute way to package your cakes/cookies that sets you apart or just gives a nice first impression? I've seen cute box ideas (pink bakery boxes, patterned boxes, etc.) and wondered what every does. I also was thinking that a nice label with my logo and name would be sufficient. I bought plain white boxes for my cookies and some purple ribbon and thought that would be a nice way to wrap up my boxes. The thing is, it would be kind of cost prohibitive for me to keep wrapping every single box this way. This is my first order and I'm trying to make a good first impression, plus the order is from an old boss of mine and who can spread the word if she is impressed. Maybe I'm focusing too much on the box and not enough on my cookies. LOL!
Michelle, if you don't have a sales tax number unfortunately you cannot buy wholesale, BUUUUUT you can hit the sales rack at Michaels.
What you can do is keep a "BASE" color the same...and purchase all the other ribbons on sale.
But the label...do it! the return on a label is more than worth the effort!
I never walk into Michael's or JoAnn's without a 40% off coupon in hand! I figure, if they are sending me a coupon or two every month, it would be like throwing money away if I don't use them. LOL! I made a label for this box using regular computer paper and my Xyron (sticker maker for scrapbooking), but that is so not going to fly for everyday use! Labels would probably be easy to print at home, I just have to get my butt to the store. I'm becoming such a recluse!
I really need to get a tax id# beccause I know I could get good prices on boxes and that type of thing. I do have plans to do all of those things this summer (register business name, tax id, etc.).
