Which Rose Do You Like Better?

I know roses aren't supposed to be perfectly smooth, but I can't decide between the two. What do you think? Sorry for the blurry pictures, I have a crummy digital camera.

It's hard to choose, but the ruffled looks more realistic, whereas the smooth one looks "nicer" or "cleaner".

The second, or bottom one. It looks like you used a #97 tip on it, which is one of my favorite rose tips.

Both are beautiful!
The ruffled one looks like it takes more time, so go with the smooth one when you're pressed for time.
I'd be pleased with either!

strawberry0121 - I just "smooshed" and pulled in lightly the end of the rose with the sharpened end of that little wooden dowel "roller" that comes with the Wilton gumpaste kit (the one that resembles a pencil). And then added some slight lines below it. I would make much more sense if I were explaining it earlier in the day lol.

OK - looks like the ruffle wins. I am just experimenting right now, but I think I'll keep the clean line one around for when I need something with cleaner lines. icon_smile.gif

So, you used Butter cream and then used the gumpaate tool after it crusted? or is it gumpaste?
