Newtodecorating.....
Go to tools, internet options. Choose the content tab. Click Enable in Content Advisor. Choose the Approved sites tab. You can allow Cake Central there.
You can also go to tools, options, privacy tab. See if it's set to high. Medium is fine and you'll have fewer problems.

Somehow, my Gallery Supporter status was removed, and I don't have nearly the amount of time that I'd like to have in order to comment. but i still do my best to leave comments when I view a cake, Gallery Supporter or not. This site, if I'm not mistaken, was meant to be a place where we can all 'gather' and share with one another. I can remember when I first came to CC, I was really excited because everyone seemed to be able to get alng and say what they felt they needed to say without biting off anyone elses head. I fell that those who are able to comment will and those who can't won't, but we should all be able to be civil about the situation.

I don't think it is anyone's job to leave a remark. It's just nice to let the person know you took the time to look and like thier work. If something is posted that you "don't like" then I'm sure you could find something nice about the cake....the colors, the fact it's someone's first try at something, or even that you could offer a bit of help on how to make it better. One does not have to be rude to offer help.

However, that being said, if you look at a photo and can't find nothing nice to say then it's better for everyone to NOT LEAVE THE MESSAGE. This is a fun place to go to share your love of cake decorating with others. Not to get smashed down and cause you to not want to decorate anymore.

It is hard to leave a message at every cake you see. With the forum being slow so often at times it's just easier to click on and look at others but at least try if you can.

Just my 2 cents.

Look, I don't know what the deal is with many of you and the way I write things...All I do is express an OPINION..

Everyone has one and one is not more valid than another.

The reason I posted that we have gallery supporters to make the comments is because I've spent 3 days..YES..3 days looking at the last uploaded pictures and MOST of them are pictures than are UNCOMMENTED!

and I know that FLAVOREDFUN just recruited a boat load of gallery supporters!

I wasn't being rude..and I wasn't being SELF CENTERED as I'm being accused if I repeat something that was TOLD to me by ANOTHER CAKE actually 2 cake central members that gave their honest opinion to some people that asked for it ...and they made the mistake of BELIEVING them...they got so toasted!

They said they would NEVER again post ANY comments, opinons or critisism to ANY picture posts.

A few of you want to "gang" up on me and try to make me feel badly, or even try to critique my upbringing...!!!

what does that say about you?

Do you know the old saying that when you point a finger...there are 3 pointing back at you?

Unbelievable what is going on and what is being let through..but, that's ok, I get my support via PM's from people that are actually afraid to post it in the forums because the are afraid to get bullied by the very same SUPER CHRISTIANS ...and again...this may just be the 3rd thread that I've posted to TODAY alone that gets LOCKED...

Now...that..is more than a coincidence....

I do my best to try to post to pictures that appeal to me..I will NOT DARE to post ANY critique comments to ANYONE, because like I said....I do not know how THIN or THICK skinned they are..

IF someone wants an HONEST opinion from me..they know they can PM me with their request.

Because I too get tired of getting bullied here.

And no, no one should have to worry whether their skin is "thick enough" to deal with the intentional cruelty that continue to come from you and certain other members who have been "flamed" icon_evil.gif

Why you and your followers continue to post with such ridiculous, unintelligent responses is beyond comprehension? icon_rolleyes.gif

Not really sure what going on here, but I don't think you are going to get folks to be more polite and considerate by being so rude yourself.

As a moderator, I think is even more important to be respectful to all the members even those you disagree with or dislike.

thank you Tammy,

and actually I didn't know I had any "FOLLOWERS" since I'm always left hanging with my "pants" down most times here.. icon_lol.gif

People that don't agree with the general consensus are NOT following..they are standing alone expressing their own opinions...I just happened to beat them to the posting !! thumbs_up.gif

There is nothing wrong with tactfully posting opinions. It is wrong however to be rude in the post but try to make it out like you are only joking. Not everyone can handle bluntness, not everyone lives with a person who may need to work on tactfulness.
It is when you cannot post an opinion tactfully that it becomes a problem. We have almost lost 3 newbies because of lack of tact, so everyone please try to work on the quality so that CC can be the place it once was- warm and inviting.

I have to say that I personally post my photos here to get opinions on how to do things better! I dont post them in the forums I just post them in my album. I just recently posted a few pics and NOT one has a comment but two of them are favorites! I dont know whether or not to post anymore photos here. I am not asking for fluff on my cakes, as I am just starting out!

I just looked at your cakes and you haven't chosen the option to allow people to leave feedback on your cakes. They are quite good too icon_smile.gif You should allow this option!

Risque,

I think you are the type of person who says what you think and it may often come out wrong when a person is reading it rather then hearing it. That happens a lot with emails and forums. A person can't hear the tone in ones voice.

I think when we feel someone is being rude here that perhaps we should just ignore the post and move on.

I hate seeing when people get upset here. This is a fun place to go. One where there shouldn't be any upset and/or stress.

As far as the gllery supporters it is not a job. It is a group of people who have offered to try a bit harder to make sure everyone photo has a post. I know I try to post several times a day.

However, no one only wants post from only us gallery members. I think everyone likes to read from others that their work was nice or pretty. Also, when one puts your photos in favorites its an honor...at least to me. But, I would like to know what they really liked about it. Wouldn't you?

icon_lol.gif This thread just made me think of something that I find really funny, but it may be offensive to many so I won't post. I just wanted to share. Thanks for the laugh. If you want to know, you can PM me but please don't get offended. icon_lol.gif

I looked at your photos and thought they were all great. I was going to leave you a comment but you don't have the option on. So no one can leave a remark. You need to change that so we can.
