Help! I'm taking the course 1 class on Thursday nights. The class is about 45 min. each way from my house. Then I have the 2 hour class. So the filling I choose has to work without being refrigerated. Also, this cake will be going to my husband's poker group, so please nothing girly.

Also, can I make the cake on Wed. afternoon? Should I ice it Wed. or can I wait till Thurs.?

Thanks so much for all your help!
Amy

hmm..... You could use just buttercream. Chocolate ganache, raspberry jam. I don't think the guys will have a problem with fruit fillings (raspberry, strawberry)

Whipped chocolate ganache would be great. Men love chocolate cakes! Otherwise, definately the buttercream as mentioned above=) Jen

okay for my wilton course, i just bought the duncan hines or pillsbury frosting cans from the store. they're easy, no extra mixing, taste great, and can sit out with your cake. if its not for a special event, i wouldn't go through too much trouble. i think the guys won't mind thats its store bought filling!

Whipped ganache would be good to go with...about 90% of my "guy" cakes are chocolate requests.

I'm puzzle... since whipped ganache contains whipping cream (which has to be refrigerated), would it be alright to leave the whipped ganache at room temperature? If yes, how many days?

Thanks in advance.

Just mix any Jello instant pudding with a carton of Pastry Pride. It is very good and can sit out for a few days.

I like the cookies and cream one and add a few extra real oreo cookies to it. Yummy.

I am going to do what JoAnne K above suggested this weekend. I am going to do the Bavarian Cream recipe on CC from Shirley. I am going to add some Baileys to it... yum. Also may try it with chocolate pudding and some nutella. I think Pastry Pride would need refrig after a while but lasts longer out than dairy.

Where can you find Pastry Pride? I hear about it so often on CC and have never seen it at the grocery store. My specialty cake store doesn't carry it either...
