Hey guys! This is something that I always have a difficult time with. How much to charge for my cakes!!! I have finally asked around my area about some prices that others charge. Like a 9x13=$25, a 11x15=$30, and 12x18=$35 for all icing on cake. I just did an 11x15 with fondant animals and a smash cake, so of course the price is more with fondant. But my question is, how do you price other sized cakes such as the various round and square sizes? I have a few coming up and I need some advice!

Thanks!

I still haven't figured out my pricing too well, but I use the standard per serving price. So you may want to do that.
Also, I have found that the price matrix (posted somewhere on CC) is great! I made some adjustments on the prices/costs/fees to reflect fair prices for my region.

what you need to do is break the main price down to a per slice charge. for example, the one size is $30. figure out the servings, and divide that to get teh price per serving. then also calculate the price you want to charge for fondant covered cakes. my work, we charge an extra dollar per slice for fondant covering. but extra fondant details can start at an extra charge of 20% of the cake costs and go up. you may also want to figure out a per price for fondant figures. check ot wilton.com. i believe they have a chart on how many professional wedding cake slices you can get from each tier sized cake. you can use that to help you calculate the price per serving for the different shaped cakes. also call around to competitors to see what they are charging also. you should be in the same ball park, but also be more than the local grocery store and Walmart since you are doing a more specialized cake.

Thanks for the advice that the two of you have given me. I hadn't thought about figuring up a per slice charge.

Thanks again!
