What exactly is the cake cruise? Sounds like a blast. Where is it? What do you do?

I would like to know about this too as I have seen it mentioned several times here on CC. A cake cruise~~~~sounds wonderful!! I wonder where it sails out of? We live really close to a Cruise Terminal.

My understanding is that they alternate between cake camp and a cake cruise each year (just observations based on what I've seen here and on other sites). Teekakes, this year's cruise sails out of Seattle (Alaskan cruise). Wish I were going because it sounds like a blast - already had the vacation plans lined up, though!

Hope that's helpful with y'all's questions.

From 1814.69 to 5998.69. It does sound like a lot of fun but Seattle is way far away from me. Hope you get to go! icon_smile.gif

CakeCamp is an immense amout of work for the organizers. There are only about 5 of us doing all of the event preparations, scheduling and all the grunt work required and we are all volunteers. We are about to start planning for CakeCamp 2008 and I will update the website as plans develop.
To do CakeCamp every year, while the decision would be very popular, the workload would do us in, and there would be no fun left.
Last year we dealt with about 40 instructors, 400 students (from 44 states and 8 o/seas countries) and a full schedule of classes, vendors and banquet for 340 people, all with very few complaints.

On the off years, we are running CakeCruise which is considerably less work (for most!) and gives people a chance to have a vacation with their family and still have some decorating on the side. Everyone has a ton of fun.
Prices are starting from $1,239.69 for dual occupancy (inc taxes) and if you have 4 friends sharing together, pricing per person would be starting under $700 each.
