I teach at Michaels and on Friday I had to share the classroom with our Bob Ross Painting instructor. He wants to try Painting with Buttercream Frosting on a fondant covered cake.

My Question to everyone is: Do you think it could be done?

I was thinking if I thinned the Icing to a soft spreading consistency that might work.

I'm looking for all the input I can get on this subject.

Thank you Jeannie

Heck yeah, girl, If you are using the buttercream that would be just like painting with oil paints. Try to get the same consistency as his oilpaints hun. Then let them brushes fly..........

I have recently read here that some of our members are using the airbrush paint colors, and says it turns out way better then using regular gel colors=) Jen

Yes you can! here is a cake I saved in my favorites. If you have any questions you may want to PM the creator. This is just a beautiful cake and I wish I could paint like this.
