chaptlps, Thank you. I wonder if that would be the same as using meringue powder. The only question I have with that is flavor. I think it would drastically change the taste, but I have not tried it yet. It's hard to try when you know your going to using so much butter. I hate to waste anything but know that's really the only way to find out.

simply whites doesn't have the same flavor as meringue powder does. Meroingue powder has tartaric acid or cream of tartar added to it and that's what gives meringue powder it's distinctive flavor.
When I made my batch of mbc I didn't notice that tangy flavor that most peeps complain about when adding meringue powder to their bc. It's just a stabilizing agent used in meringue to keep it from breaking.

Okay, it sounds worth giving it a try. I'm not really sure where you said to look for it though. Are you saying it's not in grocery section of a store but elsewhere?

It should be in the grocery section, but it's in the "health food" section or dieters section of the grocery store.
