In many of the cake decorating books I have they always use something called a scriber to write a name or a pattern on the side of a cake. Where can I find one and does anyone else use one of these things. To me it looks like a long needle. Anyhelp for the lost. Thanks

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but sometimes in the back of the books they have a list of where the supplies they used came from, so maybe there's a store name/website that the scriber came from?

After looking on the internet it looks like PME makes a scriber and country kitchen sells this one on their website...

Scriber is like a long needle, but just about anything small and pointed would work, tooth pick small end of a paint brush, rose stick, scrap booking embosser, scissors. Anything that would make an impression into your icing.
