When adding pudding to a cake mix, do I simply add the dry packet to the mix or do I make the pudding first, then add it to the cake batter? Do I use instant pudding? I'm sure I should already know this, but haven't done it yet! Thanks for the help. : )

I usually just add the dry pudding mix when I am mixing the ingredients for the cake. And yes, I use instant pudding.

I also wanted to say that I am from Junction City, Kansas originally!!! Nice to see someplace close to home on here!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I add the dry pudding mix to the cake mix and use the paddle to mix it all together in my kitchen aid. It helps remove any lumps in the cake mix and combines it with the cake mix. I then add my wet ingredients.

I do the same, but depending on the circumstance, I might throw in an extra egg too. Sometmies, I only use half a pkg of instant pudding. It really depends on what I'm baking for.

I just dump in the dry instant pudding the same time as the mix and all the other ingredients and mix it up. It makes a more dense and moist cake.
