I've been making cakes for a few months for friends and family, but I've only had a couple of paying customers so far. This morning I did a cake for a co-workers son's 1st birthday. While I thought it looked cute, I was soooooo nervous about it. I mean it's his 1st birthday...there will be pictures and it is a pretty big deal. Anyway, the uncle picked up the cake so I didn't really get a reaction. A few minutes ago, the mom called me almost in tears about how muche she loved the cake and that it was better than she imagined. I'm so happy to hear that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just so excited I thought I would share with my cc friends. Hope you all have a good weekend and happy decorating!!!!

Doesn't that make you feel good when you get that type of reaction? It makes all the work and stress you put into the cake so worth it!

Isn't that the best feeling when the client is that happy about a cake?! It really boosts my confidence in my abilities when how much they love the cake or cookies.
Congrats!!

IsN't it fun to have great comments like that?! I don't receive comments that often after the cake is gone, but when a customer calls back to tell that they liked it, and it was great, I'm on cloud 9!!!!

I'm sure it made your day icon_biggrin.gif

I think that waiting for their reactions is the worst. You are hoping that it is a least as good as they imagined.

I'm so happy for you. That is really great! I started out just doing cakes for my kids and family, then when I started taking the Wilton classes I would take my cakes to work so they wouldn't sit at my house and end up in the trash. I got a few jobs (3) doing that, but Last night at work this guy was looking at my pics and the woman standing behind him say oh my god you do cakes and I siad yes I do. She asked my how much notice I needed and I was like a few days would be nice..lol.. She asked me to do her wedding cake and the grooms cake for her April Wedding...so cool and with the help on prices I got off here yesterday when she asked me how much I looked at her and said 2.75 for BC and 3.75 For fondant (per serving that is).

I'm really happy that your cake turned out well I love when people rave about my cakes...That just means more cakes you will be making cuz lots of people show up for first birthdays...congrats!!!
