in the refrigerator and if I can How long. The reason I ask is because I'd like to do my first edible image. My local cake store sells them for $4.00 but they are closed on weekends and the cake will be for sunday so I need to buy it today. Any help would be great.

I buy mine on-line and they come in a box that i keep out. They are fine. I buy a few at a time and use them when needed. I never had a problem. They come in zip lock type bag.

I bought 2 images, attempted to use one right away (ripped to shreds) so I put the other one in the refrigerator and forgot all about it! I found it 3 months later and said, heck why not? so I made a cake and put it on. It actually peeled off the paper perfectly! I guess you're supposed to refrigerate them BEFORE using them.

First of all $4 for an edible image is such a steal. They cost $10 in my area. That was enough for me to invest in a printer and supplies.

You will be fine keeping your image as long as it is in a sealed (Ziploc) bag. I've kept them for weeks.

Never ever thought to refrigerate. I think the crumbling or falling apart may have been an issue with type of frosting sheet used. I never have a problem with that and I order from Kopy Kake.

Maybe I should order 2 of them just in case I mess up one. If I dont mess up then what do I do with the 2nd edible image with a picture on it already I doubt I can erase it lol.

I have read that they will keep for 6 months. And $4.00 is a total steal!

The ones I buy do not require refrigeration... it may pay to have two if you have not used them before.... there are a couple of sites that have great techniques to get them off the baking paper which sound wierd but work.... you need to rub them against the edge of a table rather firmly... if you follow the instructions it will peel perfectly. Storage is certainly not a problem..... most of our stores have them on a shelf anyway.... not in a fridge
