It could be your dowel rods in the bottom tier(s) are not cut exactly the same size or maybe the cake isn't dense enough to handle being stacked.

can you post a pic so we can see what's going on?

Here is a pic. If you notice it is bulging on the right side.

I can't see the bulge in the pic. What is is filled with? Is it for practice or is it for someone? When is it due?

well the bulge isnt huge but i think it is the problem. It is chocolate cake on the bottom and white on the top and is filled with buttercream.

there is a lady picking it up at 11:30 my time which now is 8

I honestly, really can't see a bulge. I think maybe if I really study it I can find a bulge but I think it's an optical illusion effect because the one side is heavy with flowers and the other is more bare. Or maybe what you see close up we can't see in a picture. I know with every cake I do I get hypervision. I see every little flaw and can't understand it when no one else does. Unless in person the cake is ready to explode out the side, I wouldn't worry about it. The lady probably won't even notice. The cake loods beautiful. Sometimes you just need a second or third set of eyes. Zola thumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gif

The only thing I can come up with off the top of my head is to drive another long dowel thru the cake more to the left side to help keep it in place, keep it from sliding. Someone else might have a better idea. Just with all your bc flowers your options are limited and you don't want her to have a problem during the ride home.

I know I rambled like an idiot in the last post. I hope you got what I was trying to get across. What does it look like from the opposite (back) side. On the blank side does it also look like its tilting. My 10 year old is sitting with me and says he doesn't see anything wrong with the cake. He says WOW that's a pretty cake mom. Why don't you do cakes like that icon_cry.gif Oh Well---------I know you wanted tangible proof, but it looks good from this end. Zola

I can see it's slightly leaning to the right (on the bottom layer). The left side looks like it's lined up perfectly, so not sure why your right side is leaning. When did it start leaning? Can you stick in the fridge/freezer to harden the entire cake? This will help the entire can solidify quicker and will stop the slide.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago with my 3 tiered Lavender Daisy cake.I stripped all the daisies off and re iced it.It looked perfect after that. The only thing I can suggest is wipe all the flowers off and straighten it out and re ice.I know that sounds like alot of work but you have the time.

Well ladies I think you so so much. I think it is mostly what I see because I did it. I will put another rod in it and pray to the Lord that it doesn't fall anymore.

Thanks again.

to me it looks like the bottom tier was ever so slightly off with each layer you added - thus the tilting effect.

It made it. I put in another dowl and fixed some of the bottome icing and the ladies came and said they thought it was so cute and that I did a great job.

All worries are gone.

Thanks again for all your help.
