Filling Cakes And Cupcakes - How Is This Done?

I've been looking at pictures and notice that alot of bakers fill the cakes and cupcakes.. Can someone tell how how this is done and what you use to do this.... I knew you can get filled donuts but not cake or cupcakes... Any advise is appreciated!

To fill a cupcake:
Fill a decorating bag with icing and use a star tube. Insert the tip into the center of the cupcake and squeeze. Don't overdo it or your cupcake might explode! icon_lol.gif
