Even though our bed doesn't bother me at all, the DH wakes up stiff and sore sleeping on our current bed, even thought it's only 5 years old. He sleeps great on a pull out sofa! Anyway, time for a new bed. Have you seen the price of a decent bed set lately????? Yikes!
So, been doing reseach and shopping and laying on beds in stores. We think we've decided on a Serta Perfect Day Eurotop. Does anyone have one, or have a bed they just love? We had thought of a Sleep Number bed until I started doing research.
It horrifying to think of spending $1400 on a mattress set and him not sleeping better!!!!

I have heard fabulous things about the sleep number even though a bit pricey.

When I started researching the Sleep Number, I found that there were many, many complaints filed about the insides of the bed molding filed with the Better Business Bureau! How gross is that??? The company also charges $350-$500 to return the bed if you don't like it, so their "free trial" is a joke. Those two things made us sure we wouldn't buy one.

WOW! We were looking at a Sleep Number bed, as my fiance has spinal damage and wakes up hurting terribly every day on my mattress. We need something firm for him, and somewhat soft for me.

The prices at Denver Mattress CO. are good, but the mattress I bought in 2002 is already getting worn out, and it has a 20 year warranty. They are only willing to give me $100 on a different mattress if I bring it back.

We're going to stay away from pillowtop mattresses, as that part is what broke down on me. The foam beds are nice, but not firm enough for him.

Why can't there be a GOOD bed out there?

My mom has one of those sleep number beds, except hers was under the name "Select Comfort" so not sure if it is the same company.
Not sure if there are any Verlo Mattress stores near you, but I really enjoy my verlo mattress. My mom gave it to me when she moved into a tiny 1 bdrm appt because she knew it would be too small for her place. I definetely want to buy another verlo mattress when it comes time to get a new one.

We bought the Serta Perfect Day Eurotop today. It was $1399. I think the hardest thing about buying a bed is that you are generally stuck with it. How do you know what you'll like until you get to sleep on it? The Eurotop isn't as thick as the pillowtop, but gives that lovely cushiony feeling. This bed has 880 individual coils, but they're also all tied together so that the coils at your feet help support the ones under your back. But, who knows? We're just going to have to wait and see. It'll be delivered on Monday. Hopefully the DH will sleep better!
Supposedly Sleep Number has changed fabric inside their newer beds to prevent molding, but I just can't get over that they molded in the first place!

jodieF....my friend bought a sleep number bed and promtly returned it!!!! She said first of all, you could feel the seam down the middle (where its split so each person can set his or her own number).....so it totally screwed up any romantic cuddling her and her hubby tried to do (not to mention anything else...LOL).......and she said it was loud when you changed the number.......(and her kids were always trying to mess with the controllers).......

I have the Serta bed and it is amazing!!! We ended up getting it at this huge furniture store for like 500 because it had a little scuff. It is awsome and it was such a steal.

I have the sleep number and I love it! I play too hard sometimes and mess up my back. During those times I can make it firmer and feel better or soften it later. I have had no mold issues.
