let your crumb-coated buttercream cake stand before applying fondant?

I've made a 6" x 2" heart-shaped small cake filled with raspberry filling and put a heavier crumb coat on this time to hide the space between layers better. Lately, I've noticed after applying fondant I can see where the space between the layers is, especially with white pettinice. It's been about 3.5 hours and it's crusted but still seems a bit soft where the space between the layers is.....

Just wondering and TIA thumbs_up.gif

I usually wait anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes.
