Hi there,
How far ahead can I make 3D animals out of fondant? Can I make it like 2 weeks ahead of time and then should I refrigerate them? I will be using the Wilton premade fondant......

thanks

I remember reading on a post not to refrigerate fondant. Maybe someone who knows a little more will see this annd be able to help you.

You can make them well in advance. Two weeks will be fine, but don't refrigerate! Just keep them in a container on your counter out of direct sunlight. They'll be fine!

I don't think that there's a problem with making the figures 2 weeks ahead of time. I wouldn't refrigerate them though. Just put them in a zip lock bag and keep em in a safe place. (you know from kids, pets, hubbies...etc.)

icon_biggrin.gif Months ahead ... I made Fondant roses last March 2005, and they are still looking good and taste fine. There is no dairy in them, so don't worry about it. It's better that you make them ahead of time so they set really well and get more sturdy. icon_smile.gif How long will sugar and Marshmallow last in your pantry ? that is how long FOndant will also last. icon_smile.gif

Lots of people refridgerate without incident. Others have more humid fridges and find things can get a little moist, but usually if you take it out of the fridge and don't touch it the problem will resolve itself.

Thanks everyone!

I will probably make them a month ahead of time now!
