Does anyone know a good mexican brand of vanilla? I have heard many good things about the Mexican Vanilla as long as it doesnt have coumarin. I just dont know what brand to buy any ideas?

I use Ronald Reginald's Melipone Mexican Vanilla, and I love the rich buttery vanilla flavor. It is not a pure vanilla, but that's fine with me! I used it in a cooking class I took as a tourist in New Orleans, and haven't used another vanilla in my house ever since!! (That was in 2001!) Here's the link I use to buy it: (and no, I'm not affiliated, I just love this stuff!

I use Baldwin's vanilla. I saw it once on Martha Stewart, so I tried it and it's great.

I found this if any of you were interested in trying it. I always like to try things that others have already said were good!

The email on the bottle is (for the La Vencedora vanilla):
[email protected]
Mexico phone (444)814-0631 (this is what is on the bottle)
fax (444)814-3621
I purchased a bottle of La Vencedora at the super Walmart when I was in Gulf Shores, Al last year. It didn't cost more than $5 for the bottle - a big bottle and I mean big like a quart. I have not looked at our local Walmart because I still have some left, my brother travels to Mexico several times a year and brings me Mexican vanilla and a couple of weeks ago my parents went to the Dominican Republic and my mother brought back what is called white vanilla - clear vanilla - I think that is the best in by pantry.
