Just thought I would post my first belly cake. Not really happy with my results but it's gonna have to do. The boobs look odd icon_eek.gif and before I could fix the middle the fondant was not as soft anymore and I didnt want to touch it for fear I would just mess the whole cake up so I put the rattles there. I have never really worked with the fondant, I used the wilton premade stuff and I guess you gotta work fast. The mom of the mom to be thought it was gorgeous I just hope the mom likes it. This will be another one of those learning lessons. Any other ideas or suggestions for the middle part? Or should I just leave well enough alone? Thanks.

That's really cute! As far as the middle, I would suggest not having so much room between the boobs and the belly and making the sash just a little bit thinner. That's all I can think of. You did a really great job! I'm sure the mom loved it thumbs_up.gif

First of all, this cake is just gorgeous!!!...If I were to be nit picky though, I would agree with Steady2hands...I might suggest next time that the boobs be slightly a bit more plump(I've got a baby and a toddler, and am still waiting for the chance to wear a smaller bra..HA!)...very nice job!

I'm sure that the Mom loved it...I would've been very impressed with it myself!

Thank you very much for the suggestions. Everyone just loved it so I was really glad about that. Next time I get to do one I will know what to do. icon_biggrin.gif

I think it looks great! Love the colors and the way the fondant drapes over the belly. And remember not all preganancies are the same. Every woman looks different with every pregnancy!

I think it looks great...sometimes we are just our worst critic. I drive my husband CRAZY when I do a cake...Mine you, sometimes I get his opinion when I don't want it to though..Oh well.

I think you did an excellent job! It's so cute. As far as the boobs go maybe she's at the end of her pregnancy and has dropped. =D

The boobs are a bit high but the cakes is great! Your colors are pretty and vibrant. I think it is hard to work with Wilton fondant. I'm thinking of switching to another brand. Your baby booties are soooooooo cute! thumbs_up.gif
