icon_smile.gif I have made Orchids out of FOndant/Gumpaste together, 50/50..
They are not that difficult since you don't use a lot of petals..only 7 including the "throat"..BUT ! it is time consuming and fragile..If you need to make 250 of them, you will need help..unless you will need them by December, then you can start making them today..and also depends which kind of orchid. That sounds like a lot of work ahead of you..but you'll make it if get a head start..good luck.. icon_smile.gifthumbs_up.gif

Can you look into another type of tropical flower? Making 250 sugarpaste orchids is a big task to take on. Or you could do half orchids, and half of something else, relating to the celebration but easier to make. It also adds variety.

icon_smile.gif Wiltons has it in their Gumpaste Book..the one that comes with all the Gumpaste cutters. icon_smile.gif One flower would take you about 20-25 mins to make, that includes cutting, coloring, rolling out, stretching the petals, putting the wires etc... icon_smile.gif

Thank you very much for your recommandation.

Il will go and see the Wilton book. And after I will decide if I will do this flower on each cupcake or just put on a few ones. I'm lucky because this cake will be for the wedding of my niece, so she give me a big latitude.

Have a good day

you could do a mold of an orchid. Sugar bouquets used to make a mold, they retired and are no longer in business.

There is a company called first impressions, they would probably have something that would work for you.

I just finished making 5 orchids, and i must say it was the hardest flower i've ever made, i have made other types of orchids but these were terrible, and didnt look too good either.
You could maybe decorate a few cupcakes with orchids and a few plain, the overall look would still be nice.
Just a suggestiong.
here are my terrible orchids, they look like star fish
