Gooberitis: the inability to concentrate and be normal due to high anxiety and excitement of a pending event.
Okay.. well I made that up, but that's how I feel right now. DH and I put a contract in on a house yesterday and I heard back from our agent today. We offered about 15k below what they were asking and put in a contingency to sell our house first. She said they countered us with an offer 7k more than we offered (still below what they asked) and offered instead of a pool inspection to open the pool for us in the spring. Now, I'm waiting for DH to call me when he goes on lunchbreak. Oh I'm so nervous and anxious and feeling a good bit insane... ![]()

My gooberitis is so bad today. We countered the counter offer to only 5k more than our original offer and told our agent to say take it or leave it. The listing agent got back to my agent saying the sellers were a bit upset that we wouldn't meet them half way. My theory is the house has been on the market for over 200 days. Um, take what you can get or keep paying 2 house payments (they already moved out). Neither my agent or I feel that the sellers understand that accepting a contingent offer means they can still show their house and still accept another offer or give us the chance to counter it. Either way they could get a better deal or at worse what we offered (which isn't chump change).
So, here I am again waiting to hear from my agent. But it's FRIIII-DEEEE and I don't have to get up early tomorrow and I am finding happiness (normally it would be a bit of stress) in having a cake to do for tomorrow for a very special little girl.
