How do I do this? I'm making an Elmo cake and I want to make the head and arms and legs out of RKT. How do I attach them to my cake? I have wooden dowels that I can use or whatever....I'm just not sure what to do since I haven't done this before. His body will be the wondermold pan on top of an 8 in round and he will be sitting on top of 14 in round. RKT Dorothy's fish bowl between his legs with his arms stretched out holding on to it. TIA!!!! I hope you all can understand this!!! icon_redface.gif

I forgot.....I'm going to pipe his fur on with the grass tip. Can i just do this right over the RKT or do I need to put like a crumb coat on first??? Thanks so much!!!!

I'm not sure about attaching the rtk...but I do kow that you should crumb coat the rtk so you don't see bumbs.

I would crumb coat it first to even it out a bit like the last post said. Then use your tip for the fur. I crumb coated my treasure chest rkt lid first then frosted.

What would I use to attach the arms to my cake? They'll be sort of reaching out to the front to hold on to the fish bowl.

I would use a cut down dowel. You can always shape the rkt to hold the fish bowl.
