Crusting Chocolate Buttercream?

Does anyone have a good recipe for crusting chocolate bc? Can I just add melted chocolate to the regular crusting bc recipe? Would I have to adjust anything else? I searched the recipes on here and didn't come up with anything.

I just add cocoa powder to my regular bc

I have personally found that when adding cocoa powder to the BC it makes it a bit bitter...especially ifyou accidentally add too much.

I like to melt chocolate chips and then let them cool for a few minutes and then add them to my normal BC recipe. This is my favorite way of making chocolate BC. If it gets a bit thick, I just add a bit more milk.

I melt and add 3 oz. of unsweetened Baker's brand chocolate to each batch of mine. You will have to "eyeball" how much more milk you will need as well. I think I typically add 2-3 T. since the chocolate seems to dry it out.

I hope I am doing this right. I kind of new to the site. Love it!!!

Thanks for posting this because I was needing the same information. I use all Crisco BC, any suggestion for turning this into chocolate?

I add a good quality cocoa powder to my regular BC recipe. I add about 1/4 cup, then taste and add more if necessary. I may add more than most people but usually it is around 1/4-1/2 for a small recipe...more if I double the BC recipe.
