I want to make a starbucks cup of coffee for my father-in-law's birthday this month. I saw in the galleries someone did a cup that looked like the cup part was made from chocolate molded in the ballpan or something like that.

Here's my idea. I could take one of my pyrex bowls (little bigger than half the ball pan) and coat the inside with white chocolate and let freeze just like a candy mold. Then use the same bowl to bake a cake in. When the cake is done, cut it so the bottom will fit in then put in the filling then the rest of the cake and decorate!! I think I'd probably put a layer of buttercream inside the cup so the choc sticks to the cake when its cut.

What do you think of that? I could then paint with food color the little starbucks logo and make a handle out of fondant probably.

Thats sounds like a lot of work, but a VERY GOOD idea. I can't wait to see that picture! Makes my mouth water to think about. If you have an edible printer, you could print the logo.
