Hi Everyone,

I am making a castle cake in the near future. 8x2" round stacked with 6x2" round stacked, turrets with ice cream cones.

If I got a 1/4 inch thick plywood base (12"x12" square) would that support the cake?

I figured the 12x12" square would be a good size for bigger cakes, as I don't do too many cakes over the 8" round size yet.

TIA

For those sizes, 1/4" plywood would work.

I am sure it would. I just went this weekend and bought plywood so I can make a bunch for myself. thumbs_up.gif

Thanks everyone,

I found foamcore board at the art supply store next to him and I think I'm going to purchase that for my cake base. It is 1/2 inch thick and sturdy. It's a big sheet for about $8 that I can cut down easily with an exacto knife to the proper size.
