I came across this recipe and was wondering if anyone has tried one like it. It has cream cheese in the batter and strawberry puree in it. I would like to try this, only I would rather swirl the strawberry puree threw it. Do any of you have a recipe like this that you have tried. I am doing a wedding cake and this sounds really good, just wondering what effect swirling the strawberry puree threw the batter would effect the consistancy. thanks

That sounds divine, I would love that recipe. I don't think it would affect the consistancy at all. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

Sounds great. I would also like to have it. I don't think it would be a problem to swirl it, but I would suggest you try it out first before doing the wedding cake. (you had probably decided to do that anyway).

i have made a white mud raspberry swirl cake, it was the top tier of 'Laura's Wedding cake' in my pic's.

i just experimented with some packet mixes first until i was happy with the swirl effect...

i used raspberry puree', but i added it to some of the cake batter first, then i used some raspberry food dye to get a nice color...

i think i used 1/2 cup of batter and mixed 1/2 cup of raspberry puree' into that then used a tablespoon to swirl it.. the spoon gave the best effect once cooked...

i tried several different methods of swirlling like a skewer, knife etc but the tablespoon gave the best result...

i tried just adding the puree' on one experiment but it seemed to be heavier than the cake batter which meant it sunk straight to the bottom of the tin..

cheers
