Are you frosting the cake in white icing? I do a thin coat, then refrigerate or freeze the cake. The second coat covers any crumbs that were showing, and the cold icing locks those crumbs in place.
My favorite filling with chocolate cake and white icing is raspberry. Yumm.
I just made chocolate cake with peanut butter filling for my hudbands birthday. They are really yummy.
Chocolate/raspberry is YUMM!!! When I frost chocolate cakes I do a crumb coat first,refrigerate,then I use a big plastic decorating bag to pipe the icing depending on the cake shape,then smooth.I get a thicker second coat and the bag spread the icing more evenly. ![]()
