My most favorite ones are Tagalongs, but I also love Samoas and Do-Si-Dos.
What are Caramel DeLites? They sound yummy!!!
Yep, it's that time again!! I'm getting a little frantic because I didn't get a chance to order any this year!! So I'm trying to find them somewhere!! The local Girl Scout troops usually have tables set up outside the grocery stores around here, but I haven't been able to find them this year!!!! YIKES!!! ![]()

cakesbyjess - the Carmel deLites are the same as Somoas. I don't know why they have 2 different names. It must be some kind of division of the girl scout troops. I get cookies about every other year because I don't always know a girl scout. But, I want a sign for my front porch that says, "No Soliciting, except for girl scout cookies!!"
I love the peanut butter ones. Are those called Dosie-doe (sp?)? ![]()
I ate one whole sleave in one sitting. ((pig))) ![]()

Are you near Hilliard? I'm the cookie mom for my daughter's troop. Iknow for us, we have had a booth sale every weekend. Try Walmart, and Kroger. If you are close, I'd love to help you out with cookies ![]()
Thin mints and Samoas
The reason why some cookies are named something different is they are supplied by different bakers. I was a GS Cookie mom for 3 years. It was great because when that box was empty I would just pull another $3 out of my pocket and buy another box sitting in my dinning room!
Of course, it wasn't as great on the hips as my tummy!
It was even worse when I was pregnant and couldn't stop eating them - but the doc did tell me to gain weight any way I could.
So I guess that gave me permission.

Yes, that easy access to the cookies is one of the perks of dealing with the cookies for the troop!
Thin Mints, hands down! I store them in the freezer it make them taste even better. I was a Girl Scout for 8 years.
I must admit... A Brownie troop set up a booth sale on campus and I bought 2 boxes of Thin Mints. I ate BOTH boxes in less than a WEEK!! And it was just me - no one else had any. But in my defense, it was a very stressful week spent trying to finish my thesis.
If you don't know any Girl Scouts, you can go here: http://www.girlscoutcookies.org/ and look up your local council and find out how and where to get your cookies.
Mmmmmm. Now I want some Thin Mints!
On a side note, to all those moms, dads, etc. involved in your daughters' troops, good for you! My mom was my troop leader for many years and I'm so grateful that she was so involved in my life when I was younger.
Those chocolate covered peanut butter cookies are directly responsible for the most recent 5 lbs. I have gained ![]()
Has anyone tried the new brownie bites? I was expecting a soft chewy cookie and it was hard and not a very good flavor. We love brownies at my house and I can't even get my kids to eat these.
Frozen mints are great if you dip them in hot chocolate ![]()
Thin mints but we don't know any girl scouts and they don't stop by often.
same here

Very interesting ... your post prompted me to do some searching, and I found out that there are two different baking companies that bake the cookies for the Girl Scouts. Each company has different names for the same cookies (and there are also some cookies that are only made by one or the other company). If anyone is interested, here are the two different lists of cookies:

I tell you ... Cake Central teaches me more than college ever did!!! ![]()
Also, I think that's a great idea to have a "No Soliciting, except for Girl Scout Cookies" sign for the front door!!! ![]()

darandon ... I'm in SE Columbus, but I'd love to support a fellow CC'er's daughter's troop! Maybe we could work something out so I can buy some boxes from you?! ![]()

Doug you are so hilarous

I'd have to say the Caramel Delites too, and Savannahs. I think they might be called something else now, they're the peanut butter ones. Actually, I don't think I've met a girl scout cookie I didn't like! ![]()
I bought 12 boxes, and said I was going to put some in the freezer. Well, we are down to 3 boxes ![]()
. My favorite are the Peanut Butter cookies, and the caramel cocnut ones. Can't remeber the names and I threw the boxes away!
Thin Mints!!!
I bought 10 boxes of them from a friend's daughter. @$4 a box!! But they are soooo good!!
I love the peanut butter chocolate ones so good my sweet husband bought 9 boxes from a guy at work but none of them were peanut butter
I did get carmel delights so good ![]()
Megianlove I dont think you need that sign at least in my area its agiant girl scout rules to sell house to house these days to dangerous wow have things changed when i was a girl scout I sold house to house and at stores no problem. but if you do get that sign extend it to the boy scouts too. ![]()
kinda off subject but we are such a sap for these things yesterday at the grocery store a teen approached selling little mini packs of candy bars that you can get in the store for like 2 dollars he was selling them for 5 bucks a pop to raise money for his gymnastics team (he did a back flip right on the spot in the street) and since our dd is in gymnastics we are saps and bought 4 packs. same thing once there was a little old coupld begging for money outside the store and my husband gave them 100 dollars I wasnt with him I about died we wont give money to beggers but we are saps for kids and elderly people.
Samoas!!!
And I also love it when Edy's comes out with their limited edition samoa cookie ice cream. MMMMMMMM...heaven!!
I am a Girl Scout MOM. I am not a leader but we only have 4 girls in our group and 3 moms. We have our leader but we all take charge of the group. Each meeting is a different mom in charge. It makes it easier for working moms that way. When DD was selling cookies it was SSOOO Cold, ICE AND SNOW, And we were all really sick. She had a goal of 300. Unfortunatly she didn't reach her goal. But We did make it to 100. I bought like 20 boxes of cookies to sell to friends that we missed. We sold most of them or ate them LOL And I had to go out to the council today and had to get 12 more boxes for a friend. So she may reach 150. We sold at the hockey arena here and we are going to do some booths at a craft show soon.
Oh Our favorites are. All Abouts, Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Do-Si- Dos. I bought a box of the brownies but they haven't got desperate enough to try the LOL
Samoas!!!
And I also love it when Edy's comes out with their limited edition samoa cookie ice cream. MMMMMMMM...heaven!!
OMG ... that Edy's GSC ice cream is AMAZING!!! I love the Tagalongs kind and the Samoas variety. I just wish the flavors weren't limited edition (though my hips, thighs, tummy, etc. are glad they're only available for a couple months each year!!! ![]()
