Hi there!
I was watching the Elvis Birthday Cake Challenge on the Food Network and I was surprised to see someone in the competition from Kansas City. Usually all the competitors are from NY or Las Vegas or CA. I am talking about Cheri Elder who did the hound dog cake. Well, I Googled her name and her website was under construction but, I did get an address and she is literally 5 minutes away from me!!
I was so excited! I never would've thought I lived near an National award winning cake decorator. (She won the silver medal!) I don't really know what I can do with this information other than just be excited about it. I would love to meet her and pick her brain, but I don't know if that could ever happen. I don't even know if she has a store that she works out of or if she works out of her house.
It doesn't really matter.....I just thought this is exciting! Thanks for letting me be gitty for a moment. 
I watched that. I don't blame you for being excited. She looked like an approachable kind of person. I'd look her up and maybe plan a DOS.
