I have trouble with coming up with pretty, different floral arrangements for cakes. If I am doing a cake with roses, I either do the standard round bouquet, all over, or around the edge. When I do other flowers I can never really get them to look good in their groupings.

Just wondering if anyone would share tips or hints they have. How do ya'll do all those pretty cakes I see with flowers on them?

Long ago I took a flower arranging class at Michaels (30 years ago) and that really helped. Remember odd numbers of each flower. I try and put one of the same kind adjacent to one that I just put in. If I put one half way up on the right then I put one half way up on the left. I turn it and to the same again. On a row below that one I might put one in between but below the one half way up and repeat the same rule. Before you know it you have a beautiful arrangement. If you don't want a round one cut the lower flower longer so they extend out a bit more. Filler is a magical ingredient. Make sure you can't see through. I hope I was somewhat clear.
