what brands of ready made fondant taste good? I have only tried Wilton and Satinice brands. I really don't like either one.

I have also made my own fondant (used the MMF recipe on this site) and it tastes pretty good.

I make my own using Toba Garrett's recipe from here on CC. I love it! I like it better than MMF. I like the taste options better and I find it easier to work with than MMF. I also love that it can be refigerated. I don't decorate as a bussines though -- stricly hobby for me so far.

Here it is!! I just knead it until it feels right for texture. Sometimes that means more sugar and sometimes less. I always use crisco during kneading. It is a tiny bit sticky when you first make it. I get with crisco until most of the stickiness is gone and then i double wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in a ziploc. I then throw it in the fridge overnight. The next day I put a little crisco on my hands and break off what I need to use. Knead it up really well and roll. I just tried it on cake last week and it was heaven. So smooth - it was not chewy at all and It didn't feel any different to my mouth than the BC underneath. One of my tasters actually said they thought it made the icing seem less sweet. I used mexican clear vanilla for flavoring instead of the recipe reccomendations. Sorry I am raving here but I love this recipe!!
